In this nine weeks we have covered 6 major global topics, most of which have conflict and/or environmental implications: Population, Migration, Folk/Pop Culture, Language, Religion, Ethnicity.
1) Finding Human Geography
In pairs, create a Google Doc that you will use the entire week for each set of tasks.
Choose 2 article(s) and relate them to one (or more) of the topics we have explored thus far.
Recommended sources: NPR, Pew Research, New York Times
Explain how your chosen article(s) embody the particular topic(s) and apply 5 of the vocabulary terms from the particular unit in your explanation. See the AP Central list of terms. (Focus on Roman Numerals: II, III, part 1; and III, part 2).
Develop a Research Question based on one of the two articles.
Examples of research questions: How are South Asian cities dealing with rural to urban migration of millions of people? How are major cities planning for the influx of migrants? How do some countries with diverse religious representation demonstrate tolerance and lack conflict that is present in other countries?
Answer the following prompt regarding your research question:
Why is this topic deserving of further research? (3-5 sentences). Note: YOU ARE NOT ACTUALLY DOING THE RESEARCH. Rather, you are explaining the significance of the topic and the questions it raises.
Put your Name(s), Title of the article(s), and a Google Doc explanation on the following spreadsheet. Be aware you will be working with this article this week, so choose wisely! Don't just pick the first thing you find.
